Electronic Music and Sound Design is a series of books by Alessandro Cipriani and Maurizio Giri on sound synthesis and processing with Max and MSP. Sound synthesis, processing, and programming with Max and MSP, hundreds of examples, online support, tests, reverse engineering activities, completion, correction and analysis of algorithms, replacement of parts of algorithms, etc.
All volumes alternate between theoretical parts and practical computer sections, which should be studied in close connection, alternating each chapter of theory with the corresponding chapter of practice, including computer activities. The theoretical part is not a substitute for other theoretical texts on synthesis. Rather, it is an indispensable theoretical compendium to the practical work of programming and inventing sounds on the computer, and is therefore part of a comprehensive teaching system. These volumes can be studied through self-learning or under the guidance of a teacher.
